Reviews of Greek Mythology
The Hampstead Stage Company would like to thank the administrators, teachers, parents and most especially the students who have taken the time to write these letters.
The sixth graders and faculty at Somerset School thoroughly enjoyed the performance of Greek Mythology. The children have been studying Greek culture in social studies class, and were able to understand the myths you performed. As you will read from the letters, our sixth grade "Barbarians" loved the assembly. Thank you for such a wonderful and entertaining performance.

Today, we were treated to the Hampstead Stage Company' performance of Greek Mythology. It was a delight! The audience was composed of students ranging from preschool to fifth grade and all the students were engaged and attentive. The students seemed to "get the jokes" as did the appreciative faculty and staff. The younger students seemed mesmerized by the live presentation both with the actors and the props. The Players were clearly effective in their various roles and did a great job of pulling the audience into the production. In fact, it was a little preschool age girl who, during the question and answer portion of the show, said, "I really liked the way you whined!" I thin she got it! Hampstead Stage Company visits are always a highlight to the school year and this visit was no exception. The production from the actors to set to props was a joy. Thank you for consistently providing exceptional live theatre for our students -- we are most appreciative!

I wanted to write and tell you how much our fourth grade students enjoyed you Greek Mythology show. Your performers, Adrian and Mary, were absolutely wonderful. They delivered the stories powerfully and related the information in such a way that our fourth graders were mesmerized! The way the topics were covered and the amount of material was perfect. My students learned quite a bit, even though we had thoroughly studied mythology. Your program and performers are to be commended! Thank you for a wonderful show!

On Friday Bill and Kerry performed at Reid Middle School in Pittsfield, MA. Our seventh grade students enjoyed the performance as well as our English teachers. The teachers were extremely impressed with your presentation on Greek Myths. It was a pleasurable as well as educational experience for all.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much our fifth and sixth graders enjoyed your performance of Greek Mythology for Kids II on Friday afternoon. The adaptations of the stories of Hercules and Jason held the audience spellbound throughout (no easy task in this age of television, videos, Nintendos, and computers) as did the excellent performances by your two find actors. As I previously mentioned on the telephone, your troupe came highly recommended as my best friend, a media specialist, has had the chance to view your productions on several occasions. May I add that the show on Friday lived up to an surpassed her "glowing reviews". It was a wonderful experience for students and teachers alike, and a sixth grade teacher has already suggested that we make a visit by your talented company an annual "special event" for the fifth and sixth grades! We most definitely will be interested in booking again. Once more, thank you for an enjoyable afternoon of informative entertainment that we will all remember for a long time to come.

The Hampstead Stage Company, Bill and Kerry, visited our school on Thursday. Their performance of myths of ancient Greece held the attention of third and fourth grade children for approximately sixty minutes. The actors projected their voices with force; and they used masks to change characters with ease. The message of the myths was clear and children asked appropriate questions after the performance. We thank Bill and Kerry for being so gracious.

Yesterday the students at The Oxford Academy were treated to one of the most delightful and educational assemblies it has every been my pleasure to witness. The Hampstead Stage Company performers, Samantha and Michael, performed Greek Mythology for Kids II for ninety students in grades kindergarten through eighth and every single student was utterly enthralled with the presentation. The legends of 'Hercules' and 'Jason and the Argonauts' were presented with such joy and creativity that our students were captivated by the stories unfolding on the stage. You and your troupe have our sincerest thanks for offering this type of educational vehicle to the students of The Oxford Academy, furthermore you should be congratulated on your selection of performers. from the moment Samantha and Michael arrived at the Academy to the moment they departed, the conducted themselves as consummate professionals. Our students were very receptive to the comfortable and natural interaction that these two wonderful young people created. All of the faculty at The Oxford Academy look forward to having the Hampstead Stage Company return to our school in the near future.
